The weather gods must favour this show because every time I have attended in recent years it has been warm and sunny, today was no exception (at least while I was there, it may have rained later in the day). People attending outdoor events of any kind in Britain appreciate how important it is to have clement weather. It is particularly beneficial when photographing cars, which is the primary purpose of my attending this event.

As ever, all the marques covered by BMC and Leyland were fully represented today. Many thanks and congratulations to all those talented enthusiasts who invest time and money in keeping these cars on the road, giving pleasure to thousands on occasions like today.

I love looking at these cars, many of which are in better condition now than when they first left the production line, several decades ago. I can’t help seeing at them and thinking “If only!”. I don’t need to explain what I mean by that, the fall of the British Motor Industry, or, at least the volume producers, has been well documented. But days like these present opportunities for rejoicing, one, for the fact that these cars were produced in the first place and two, due to the dedication of their current and previous owners they are still here to admire; to remember when we first saw them, maybe as cars owned by our families.

Here are some of the cars that caught my eye  today presented in a Marque/Club format –
