I can hardly believe that it was four year ago that the first Rootes Heritage Day, organised by the Rootes Archive Centre Trust (RACT), was held, at the British Motor Museum. This meeting provides a wonderful opportunity for members of the various Rootes Group marque clubs to show off their cherished cars and join in the camaraderie the the day engenders.
The weather Gods decided that we had had enough of the prolonged hot sunny weather and decreed that Sunday 20th July would be a good day to dump a good measure of rain on Gaydon and the surrounding area. When I arrived, at 10.30, the rain had stopped but I was told that setting up the displays, earlier in the morning, had been a very wet affair.
This didn’t dampen the spirits of either the exhibitors or the visitors and everyone I spoke to were enjoying the day. I enjoyed taking photos of these cars to share with you here –
