I have an old school friend (UTS, Aston, Birmingham – within shouting distance of Villa Park, home to the resurgent Aston Villa football team, and the splendid Aston Hall, see photo below), Bill Arundel, who emigrated to Australia in the 1960s.  We were brought back into contact, via a mutual friend, about twenty years ago and have kept in touch ever since. He is kind enough to say that he enjoys reading my Classic Car blogs and through them he and some of his golfing mates have expanded their knowledge and interest in the subject; so much so that when he and his wife visited the Government House Open day recently he could not resist taking photographs of the classic vehicles on display.

I shouldn’t have been surprised that he is a quick learner, he was pretty bright at school. These are very good photos and I have no hesitation in publishing this post in order to showcase them and give others the opportunity of seeing these historic cars on show at one of Australia’s most historic locations. However, he did set me some “homework”, in order to add captions to the photos. I must say that I did enjoy doing that.
