Austin Healeys at the Classic Motor Show Birmingham NEC November 2024
Ever since I was involved with the Warwickshire County Record Office’s (WRCO) Donald Healey Motor Company archive project (2016 – 2020) I always make a special effort to look for Healey related cars at events like this. This years’ Classic Motor Show at Birmingham NEC was particularly rewarding, I don’t think that I have seen so many Austin Healeys in one place other than at a dedicated club event. The only way to give justice to all these photographic opportunities was to publish a special report. It was great to see Mel and Mike Ward manning the splendid Austin Healey Club stand which is where I will begin –
Gerald Stevenson’s “Bad Boy” Austin Healey fitted with a GM Corvette V8 engine.
1954 Austin Healey 100 BN1Sebring Sprite
1960 Austin Healey Sebring Sprite. one of the six owned by John Sprinzel that carried the same registration number.
Austin Healey Sprite – Speedwell GT
Austin Healey based special. This is a “one off – in progress” designed and constructed by a teacher/philosopher without an engineering background. Personally, I like it. NM.
