The first “ Cars at the Spa” was held at the Pump Room Gardens, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, in 2019.
It was such a success, with positive feedback from both exhibitors and visitors, that the organisers, the Rotary Club of Royal Leamington Spa, had no hesitation in deciding to do it again the following year but then the pandemic struck. So we had to wait until today (Sunday 26th September 2021) to enjoy a replay of the event.
We did it in style thanks to the wonderful weather, it was really lovely. However good the weather was, it would have been for nought if the owners of some stunning cars had not turned up; thankfully they did as you can see in the photos below.
The Regency Town of Royal Leamington Spa looked at its very best in the late summer sunshine; what an appropriate backdrop for these classic cars, some of which had been made, many decades ago, in nearby Warwick (Healey) and Coventry (Alvis, Riley and Jaguar).
There was room on site for picnics and there was entertainment in the recently refurbished bandstand area. There was also a number of caterers on site as well as numerous other opportunities for food in the town centre including a cafe in the Royal Pump Rooms next door.
The Club has supported 25 charities in the past year including local, national and international organisations, dispensing some £17,000 . Charities helped include:-
Water Aid, Mollie Ollie’s Wishes, Warwickshire Association of Youth Clubs, Hope and Homes for Children , Foodbank, Air Ambulance, Cruse Bereavement, the Town Mayor’s Charity Appeal, Sightsavers, Salvation Army, Helping Hands Community Charity, and many others.
