SUMMARY:The International St. Moritz Automobile Week - 25-29 September 2024
DESCRIPTION:The first International St. Moritz Automobile Week was launched in 1929.  It was financed by\, somewhat logically\, the local tourist industry of the time.\n\n\nIn those days the automobile week consisted of a rally\, the kilometre race\, a skill race\, a concours and finally the Bernina Hill Climb\, now known as the ‘Bernina Gran Turismo’. This latter element\, held since 2015\, is now rightly considered to be one of the most beautiful events in the historic racing calendar. \nThe current edition of the “International St. Moritz Automobile Week” also commences with a sprint race\, the “Kilomètre Lancé – Alpine 1000”\, but now takes place on the runway of Engadin Airport. \nThere is also the Automotive Film Festival first introduced in 2021\, which offers historic cinematic delights appropriate to the theme of St. Moritz Automobile Week.  \nMany of the elements of the early events are embedded in the current activities including a ‘Concours d’Elegance and a “Garden Party” where enthusiasts can mix and exchange stories in a convivial atmosphere surrounded by exotic automotive machinery. \nRM Sotheby’s will again be holding a ‘Collector Car’ auction in the grounds of the Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains.  \nAnd then there is “Le piece de la resistance”\, the Bernina Gran Turismo. The technical vehicle scrutineering will also take place in front of the Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains\, offering spectators the opportunity to observe the racing vehicles up close. SUMMARY:Mallory Park Racing Circuit - Plum Pudding Races
DESCRIPTION:Now in its 46th year\, the annual Plum Pudding races return to Mallory Park this Boxing Day. Both cars and bikes take to the track (not together!) providing an exciting day of racing\, and the perfect excuse to blow away the cobwebs and get away from those mince pies! \n\n\n\n\nThere are separate grids and races for both saloon cars and sports cars respectively\, but both play out a little differently than conventional race meetings. Unlike those in the regular season\, there are no qualifying sessions here. Instead\, the fastest race entry sets pole position rather than fastest lap time. So if you enter first\, you get pole position for Race 1. The results of Race 1 then set the grid for the second race with the entire grid reversed to further enhance the actions. \nAll race ready sports cars and saloons cars are eligible to enter their respective races\, with saloons cars ranging from Peugeot 206s\, Ford Fiestas and Honda Civics\, to Alfa Romeos\, Ford Escorts\, BMWs and VW Golfs. As for sports cars\, you can bring vehicles such as Caterhams\, Porsches\, Radicals and other sports prototypes\, Mazda MX-5s\, TVRs and Lotus Elises. This really is an incredibly open contest\, so as long as the car meets all the required Motorsport UK safety requirements\, you’re in! \n\nCar entries can be found via the 750 Motor Club here.\nBike entries can be found via EMRA here. \n\nSpectator numbers will be restricted to the annual Boxing Day event.
