I had the privilege of attending the MGB’s 60th Anniversary event held at the British Motor Museum, Gaydon, Warwickshire, on Sunday 25th September 2022. There was a distinct autumnal chill in the air when I arrived but the sun was shining brightly, which always makes these events so much more enjoyable and by mid-day, it had warmed up considerably. It seemed to me that everybody who owned an MGB, or one of its derivatives, had made their way to the BMM in order to celebrate their pride and joy’s 60th anniversary of its launch. In reality, although there were indeed a vast number of MGB/Cs etc. in attendance, they represented only a small percentage of all the MGBs in the country and an even smaller percentage of the total number of these popular sports cars that were sold across the world, especially in the USA.
Whichever classic car show/meet I attend, especially single marque events, I seek out cars that are a little different from the norm, or, those that strike me as being particularly well presented. So, here are some of those cars I photographed today –
