Despite weather that was more typical of April than August there was a good turn out of both cars and visitors to this year’s Retro Warwick Classic Car Show organised by Warwick’s Court Leet team. This is the fourth year that carsceneinternational.com has attended this event and as before we have concentrated on taking photos of unusual, rare and exeptionally well prepared cars. By that criteria we were spoiled for choice this year. The one thing that always impresses us about this event, in addition to the cars of course, is the friendliness and politeness of everyone encountered. It’s a real pleasure to enjoy and participate in English culture at its best in one of this country’s most historic towns. By the way, Warwick was the home of the Donald Healey Motor Company, this is celebrated by the Warwickshire Country Record Office (WCRO) owning that company’s archive. The contents of the archive have been catalogued and this can be viewed ‘on line’ (seel link below). The documents, photographs, drawings etc. can be examined at the Record Office. So, here are the cars that took our eye this year – Austin Seven’s (never tire of photographing examples of this car) MG Most impressive? Always a matter of opinion but I was very impressed by everything about this Triumph Vitesse soft top – the standard of finish – very unusual induction system – imaginative engineering executed to a high standard.
