Stratford Festival of Motoring 2020
“Stratford Festival of Motoring will next take place in 2021. As you may be aware, the Early May Bank Holiday has moved from Monday 4th May to Friday 8th May, to allow for the 75th Anniversary of VE Day celebrations. As a result, Stratford has decided to rest the Festival of Motoring in 2020. The event does not stack up financially as a one-day event, unfortunately, so we are now planning for 2021. The provisional date is 8th May 2021″
This was the fifth year that the Stratford Festival of Motoring had been held. Each year local classic car owners have been joined by others from further afield to put on a splendid show of their treasures, around the historic streets of Stratford -upon-Avon’s town centre.
I visited on Monday 1st May. Although it was supposed to be May the weather was decidedly of the type associated with April. Yes, that’s right, the periods of bright sunshine were interrupted by bouts of rain, fortunately they were not heavy. The changeable weather is reflected in some of the photos that I took.
The feature this year was the Jaguar marque. Jaguar cars were mostly parked at the far end of Wood Street although some were also encountered elsewhere in the town centre.
