My wife and I visited the Goodwood Festival of Speed for the first time about fifteen years ago. It had already established itself as one of the ‘must go to’ auto events for ‘petrol heads’ at that time. Since then it has gone from strength strength with many of the premier motor manufactures taking a very active part.
In some respects it is an open air motor show where the auto makers are able to show off their ranges, particularly their sportier models, to an audience of unbridled enthusiasts.
When my wife was invited, by Peugeot, to apply for a pair of tickets to this year’s event they could not have anticipated that the invitation would be received with utmost joy.The reason why Peugeot made this gesture to my wife, along with many other current and prospective Peugeot owners, was because it wanted to introduce its newly launched 208 model. They also had a prototype of the 208 GTi model on display. What better place could there be to reveal this much anticipated model than the Festival of Speed?
Here are some of the photos I took. By error I did not have my Pentax K100D-S camera with me so I had to rely on my trusted Fujifilm Finepix A303 which is nine years old now but has served me very well.
