Hagerty Renaissance - Bicester Heritage 2018 - International Car Events by Car Scene Int.

Congratulations to Hagerty Insurance U.K. for having the brilliant idea of organising an alternative to the renowned Goodwood Revival Meeting. The Hagerty team realised that not all enthusiasts are able to travel to Sussex to experience the Revival meeting first hand. Bicester Heritage’s central location presents a wonderful venue on which to base a credible alternative which they named Hagerty Renaissance.

Owners of cars covered by the historic tax class were invited to bring their cars to display to an adoring crowd of ‘petrol-heads’. They even organised the weather, something that many event organisors in the U.K. wished that they were able to do 🙂 There was also a big screen on which to watch the various events at Goodwood Revival. Personally I was too busy photographing the exotic machinery at Bicester Heritage.

Thanks to an invitation from my friend David Scothorn, a fellow supporter of the Warwickshire County Record Office’s Healey Motor Company archive project, I was a member of that adoring crowd. I was delighted by the fact that so many visitors had taken the opportunity to dress in period costume. I was also struck by the friendliness and helpfulness of the many volunteers who helped organise the event.

I hope that this will be the first of many similar events. Bicester Heritage is all about classic cars so it was inevitable that I was able to take photos of cars which weren’t necessarily part of the Renaissance event. I have labeled them accordingly. Here are some of the photos that I took –
