As editor of Car Scene International and International Car Events I took the opportunity to visit the Old Ford Rally and the Rootes Heritage Day events held at in the grounds of the British Motor Museum on Sunday 21st July. This is my report on the Old Ford Rally.
We were blessed with good weather, a little overcast at times, blazing sunshine at others but thankfully no rain. As I entered the display area I came across the Capri Owners Club gazebo surrounded by a terrific collection of Capris of all types. I was almost overwhelmed and that was to be my experience throughout all the displays. For instance I have never seen such a massive and eclectic collection of mostly American Ford based “hot-rods”. Wherever I strolled through the various model groups the three words that summed up all of them were – enthusiasm, knowledge and friendliness.
I hope that these photos, which only show a small fraction of all the cars on display, gives you some idea of what a great day it was. I will have to say that this atmosphere was also reflected in the Rootes Heritage Day event held nearby.

What a great collection of vehicles, all with a Ford connection.
I hope that you have enjoyed looking at the photos and if you were there, reliving a memorable day. If you weren’t there, maybe you will be tempted to come next year.
